چکیده
Conidia play a vital role in the survival and rapid spread of fungi. Many biological processes conidia, such as adhesion, signal transduction, regulation oxidative stress, autophagy, have been well studied. In contrast, contribution pathogenicity factors during development conidia fungal phytopathogens has poorly investigated. To date, few reports centered on functions phytopathogen conidia. Pseudocercospora fijiensis is hemibiotrophic fungus causal agent black Sigatoka disease bananas plantains. Here, conidial transcriptome P. was characterized computationally. Carbohydrates, amino acids, lipid metabolisms presented highest number annotations Gene Ontology. Common were found, but interestingly, effectors also identified. Upon analysis resulting proteins against Pathogen–Host Interaction (PHI) database, 754 hits WideEffHunter EffHunter effector predictors identified 618 effectors, 265 them shared with PHI database. A total 1107 devoted to pathogenesis found after our analysis. Regarding effectorome, it comprise 40 canonical 578 non-canonical effectors. Effectorome characterization revealed that RXLR, LysM, Y/F/WxC are largest families effectorome. Ontology classification suggests they involved many metabolisms, expanding current knowledge

A p21-Activated Kinase Is Required for Conidial Germination in Penicillium marneffei
Asexual spores (conidia) are the infectious propagules of many pathogenic fungi, and the capacity to sense the host environment and trigger conidial germination is a key pathogenicity determinant. Germination of conidia requires the de novo establishment of a polarised growth axis and consequent germ tube extension. The molecular mechanisms that control polarisation during germination are poorl...
متن کاملInhibition on Conidial Germination of Colletotrichum gloeosporiodes and Pestalotiopsis eugeniae by Bacillus subtilis LB5
The effect of antifungal compound from Bacillus subtilis strain LB5 was tested against conidial germination of Colletotrichum gloeosporioides and Pestalotiopsis eugeniae, causal agent of anthracnose and fruit rot of wax apple, respectively. Observation under scanning electron microscope and light compound microscope revealed that conidial germination was completely inhibited when treated with c...

Black Sigatoka or black leaf streak disease, caused by the Dothideomycete fungus Pseudocercospora fijiensis (previously: Mycosphaerella fijiensis), is the most significant foliar disease of banana worldwide. Due to the lack of effective host resistance, management of this disease requires frequent fungicide applications, which greatly increase the economic and environmental costs to produce ban...
متن کاملAgrobacterium tumefaciens-Mediated Transformation of Pseudocercospora fijiensis to Determine the Role of PfHog1 in Osmotic Stress Regulation and Virulence Modulation
Black Sigatoka disease, caused by Pseudocercospora fijiensis is a serious constraint to banana production worldwide. The disease continues to spread in new ecological niches and there is an urgent need to develop strategies for its control. The high osmolarity glycerol (HOG) pathway in Saccharomyces cerevisiae is well known to respond to changes in external osmolarity. HOG pathway activation le...
متن کاملA mitogen-activated protein kinase that senses nitrogen regulates conidial germination and growth in Aspergillus fumigatus.
We show that the mitogen-activated protein (MAP) kinase pathway that responds to osmotic stress in Aspergillus fumigatus is also involved in nutritional sensing. This MAP kinase regulates conidial germination in response to the nitrogen source and is activated upon starvation for either carbon or nitrogen during vegetative growth.
